What the listing says
What Google Maps does
The maker’s listing presents Google Maps as a travel and local information app for finding places and planning journeys. It provides turn-by-turn guidance for driving, walking, cycling and public transport, with route changes based on live traffic information. That makes it suited to people travelling across town, exploring unfamiliar areas or comparing different ways to reach a destination.
Maps, places and routes
According to the maker’s listing, users can search for businesses and other local destinations, then review details such as ratings, prices, cuisine and how busy a place may be. Street View and other visual map views can help users check a destination before arriving, including nearby entrances or parking areas. The listing also describes downloadable maps for navigation when a data connection is unavailable.
Navigation features
The maker’s listing includes live information for public transport and traffic-aware directions among the app’s navigation functions. It also describes camera-based walking guidance that places directional information over the surrounding view. These features are relevant to users who need guidance on foot as well as those planning trips by car, bicycle or transit.
Store listing record
The Google Play listing names Google LLC as the developer and places the app in Travel & Local. The store listing shows a rating of 3.1722708 from 19,302,412 ratings, along with 10,000,000,000+ installs. Those figures describe the store listing record; they are not an assessment of how accurate, safe or effective the app is in use.
