Ubigi: Travel eSIM & data plan

Travel data without changing your physical SIM

Ubigi: Travel eSIM & data plan is a travel connectivity app for people who need mobile data abroad. Developed by Transatel, it lets you use an eSIM on a compatible phone or tablet, so you can keep your usual physical SIM available for calls and texts while using a separate data plan during a trip.

Choose and manage a prepaid data plan

The app is designed for selecting prepaid mobile data plans for destinations around the world. Ubigi states that one eSIM can be used across more than 200 destinations, making it suitable for holidays, business travel, remote work and frequent trips. You can check your data use, add another plan and manage your account from the app.

• Use travel data without swapping a physical SIM card.
• Keep your regular phone line available, subject to your device and carrier settings.
• Top up or purchase another plan when your current allowance runs low.
• Use data sharing where supported by the selected plan and device.

What to check before using it

Ubigi requires an eSIM-compatible device. Compatibility varies by phone, tablet, region and carrier, so check your device settings and model before relying on the service for a trip. The app may offer access to 4G or 5G networks where the local network and plan support them. As with any travel data service, coverage and performance can differ between destinations.

App details and user feedback

Listed in Travel & Local, Ubigi has recorded 1,000,000+ installs and a 3.4 rating from 5,414 reviews. Those figures suggest a widely used service with mixed user feedback. It may suit travelers who want to arrange mobile data in advance and manage several travel plans from one app.
